Child & Adolescent Assessment

FCMHC offers comprehensive, integrative psychological assessments for school-aged children and adolescents. Assessments typically take place over the course of 2-6 sessions and involve the administration of interviews, questionnaires, and other tests to answer a specific referral question. The assessment concludes with a written report signed by the clinician and supervisor and a feedback session in which the results of the assessment are described in plain language, along with recommendations based on our findings.

Psychological assessments can be useful for:

  • Establishing or clarifying a mental health diagnosis

  • Assessing for cognitive strengths and weaknesses

  • Testing for issues with attention (including ADHD)

  • Providing a detailed picture of psychological functioning to supplement ongoing psychotherapy or IEPs
